Whatcom Town Hall: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Your Co-op

February 22, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

At Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship
1207 Ellsworth Ave in Bellingham

Facilitated by Dr. Breyan Haizlip

Voice YOUR opinion on how we can build a socially responsible business that is truly welcoming to all members of our community.

Internally, we have been building our foundational knowledge with trainings on Racial Equity, Race & Privilege, and Colonialism. Now we are gearing up to incorporate this knowledge throughout our cooperative.

This is the beginning of community-informed action. This is the start of a public conversation, which at its root is in line with our cooperative model.

If you feel uncertain or have questions, please reach out. Even more importantly, come to the Town Hall.

If you hear community concerns, criticism, or questioning, please encourage those individuals to attend the Town Hall and share their perspectives.

Dr. Haizlip was selected to facilitate specifically because she does not shy away from the difficult and uncomfortable conversations needed to learn and to inform ourselves. She will hold space for the community to SHARE, and for the Co-op Board and Management to LISTEN.

Your voices are essential. No advance preparation needed. Your personal experience is all you need to participate.

We hope you can join us! Please share this invitation with your friends, neighbors, and community.

The Town Hall will aid the Co-op Board directors in defining issues and goals for further exploration and action.
Refreshments and desserts served.
Child care provided.
ASL interpretation and Spanish language translation provided.
If you require other accommodations, please let us know.
