Member Engagement Event

A series of educational events designed to bring our Co-op members together.

Fiber, Food, Fermentation, and the Microbiome

THURSDAY, OCT 29 • 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Free • Registration required
Co-op Connections Classroom • 405 E Holly St #103

Only 6 seat(s) remain.

We often hear that we should “eat more fiber,” but not all fibers do the same thing. Join Dr. Dan Lukaczer, a naturopathic doctor and Co-op member, to explore the differences between types of fiber and how they affect your body. This conversational class gives members a practical way to understand fiber and connect it to familiar foods like oats, barley, beans, whole grains, and fermented foods.

In this class, you’ll:

  • Discover the functions of bulking, gel-forming, and fermentable fibers
  • Learn the differences among prebiotics, probiotics, and fermented foods
  • Find out how to match specific fibers to different health goals
  • Build a practical, food-first plan and introduce highly fermentable fibers gradually
  • Participate in discussion and Q&A

This event is free, but registration is required. Space is limited to 40 members, so please register only if you plan to attend.

If you register but are unable to make it, please email [email protected] as soon as possible so we can open your spot to another member.

How To Get Here

The class takes place in the Co-op Connections Classroom, across the street from our Downtown store. Parking is available in front of and behind the building. Please arrive a few minutes early.
