North Forest Beer Release Party
Aslan Brewing and the Downtown Co-op have been neighbors on North Forest Street for more than a decade. To celebrate Eat Local Month, we teamed up to create North Forest — a crisp, organic pilsner named for the street we share and the woods that surround us. $1 from every Aslan beer sold at the release party will support the Co-op Farm Fund. This program has provided $971,199 to 183 local food and farming projects since 2000 through grants, loans, scholarships, and emergency funds. ELK plays at 7 p.m. Come celebrate Eat Local Month with us!

Whatcom County Farm Tour
Meet the folks who grow and raise your food. The Whatcom County Farm Tour offers self-guided tours through many of our area farms. Pet goats, walk the fields, and see how it all gets from the farm to your plate.

During this week, member-owners save 25% in our Bulk Department, which includes everything from grains and coffee to non-food items like laundry detergent and body soap. Bring your own containers, buy what you need, and ditch all the extra packaging that typically accompanies grocery shopping.

Chef in the Market: Tam Tam Pizza
Tam Nguyen brings Tam Tam Pizza to the demo table on Sept. 19. Tam makes West Coast, Neapolitan-style pizza with locally milled flour and seasonal ingredients from area farmers, millers, and cheesemakers.
