2027 Community Shopping Days Application

Community Shopping Days

The Co-op is now accepting applications from community groups for the 2027 Community Shopping Days (CSD) program. Organizations that received a CSD for 2025 or 2026 will not be considered for an award this year.

Shopping Day

Community Shopping Days occurs the third Saturday of every month. Each of the 12 selected organizations receives their own day, during which they will receive 2% of sales from both Co-op locations. Organizations have the option to table in-store on their shopping day, and are encouraged to engage in external promotion.

Qualifying Organizations

Donations are awarded to nonprofit and cooperative organizations, or organizations functioning as a nonprofit but not necessarily a 501(c)(3), working in Whatcom County. Eligible groups serve our community in one or more of the following areas:

  • food and sustainable agriculture
  • social justice, peace, and human rights
  • ecological issues
  • education
  • health and well-being
  • cooperative development
  • community development

Application Process

The application deadline is Friday, August 28, 2026. In September, the Co-op’s Member Affairs Committee (MAC) will recommend the groups to be awarded, and the Board will approve the final selection in October. Each year, we receive more applications than we can fund. If you are not selected this year, we encourage you to reapply the following year.

Applications must be submitted via the form below. Applications cannot be edited after submission. No supplemental information is accepted. Awardees will be asked to provide an update on how the funds were used by the end of January 2028 so we can share with the Co-op membership during the Annual Meeting.
