
2026 Community Shopping Days Application
The Co-op is now accepting applications from local community groups for the 2026 Community Shopping Days (CSD) program. Organizations that received a CSD for 2024 or 2025 will not be considered for an award this year. Check out our 2025 recipients.
Shopping Day
Each organization that is selected will receive 2% of combined sales from both Co-op locations on the third Saturday of their scheduled month. Organizations do have the option to table in-store on their shopping day, and are encouraged to engage in external promotion.
Qualifying Organizations
Donations are awarded to Bellingham and Whatcom County nonprofits, cooperative organizations, or organizations functioning as a nonprofit that aren’t 501(c)3. Eligible groups serve our community in one or more of the following areas:
- Food and Sustainable Agriculture
- Social Justice, Peace, and Human Rights
- Ecological Issues
- Education
- Health and Well-being
- Cooperative Development
- Community Development
Priority is given to applicants who focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Application Process
The application deadline is Friday, August 29, 2025. After reviewing all applications, the Co-op Member Affairs Committee (MAC) will make an initial selection of groups to be awarded. The Board will approve the final selection in October. Each year we receive more applications than we can fund. If you are not selected, we encourage you to reapply next year.
In January 2027, awardees will be asked to provide an update on how they used the CSD funds. This will be shared with Co-op members during the Annual Meeting.
