Letter From the Board Chair, Laura Weiss
Dear Co-op Members,
I so appreciate how the Co-op has continued to serve our community during the last few years of the pandemic, and I especially want to thank all our staff for working so hard to keep the doors open during this challenging time. I am feeling very optimistic about the exciting changes ahead in 2023.
We have a new General Manager, Chuck Parsons, who started as our GM in October 2022. Chuck hails from Minnesota, has a passion for good food and good music, and has exciting plans for new offerings in our stores, including sushi and new deli options.
Your Board of Directors has also been busy, getting ready to update our Strategic Plan, which we expect to complete by the end of the year. We’ll be asking for your input at the upcoming Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 30th at 6:00 pm, at the Bellingham Technical College, and we sure hope you can attend!
At the upcoming Annual Meeting, we will also have a chance to meet the candidates who are running for the Board this year! Cooperatives are democratic organizations, and democracy matters! So please make sure you cast your vote, and thank you for being a member of the Co-op!
Thanks for being a Co-op member and shopper. Together, we are making our community a better place to live and enjoy local, sustainable food.

Letter From the General Manager, Chuck Parsons
It is my pleasure to invite you to our annual meeting. I am excited to join you for the first time as the General Manager. I joined the Co-op last fall and have been getting integrated into the community and organization over the past few months. During the meeting, I will take the opportunity to introduce myself, my background, and share some planned innovations and exciting changes for the Co-op this year.
I am focused on improving the customer experience, maximizing our use of space, improving member value, and building the best team to support our membership and organization.
I look forward to meeting you, engaging with the board and board candidates, and hearing your input as the board starts to develop the strategic plan. This strategic plan will help guide us for the next few years. Your participation in the annual meeting and planning process is important as we look to our future and how we can position ourselves for longevity and success.
Thank you for spending your evening with us and supporting the Co-op!
Chuck
